DESCRIPTION:Discover the world of real cider. Explore an orchard of 3000 heritage cider apple trees. Take a moment to commune with nature\, listen to the bees and smell the blossoms. Learn about the history of cidermaking\, the orchard traditions and whacky folklore. Venture into the Cider Barn where the cider is made and bottled. Finish with a sampling of 5 different ciders \nThis includes a tour of our beautiful organically managed apple orchard which has around 3\,000 mature apple trees. We begin by venturing into the orchards where you will be introduced to some of the 15 varieties of heritage cider apples that we grow at the Cider Farm. During the tour\, we discuss some of the fascinating history and folklore behind apple growing and making cider in Britain. We even participate in a yearly traditional Wassail or Blessing of the orchard! We tell you about the important role of the bees to ensure pollination and how the apples grow. Questions are always welcome. We discuss harvesting techniques\, cleaning and the pressing procedure on our big old belt press. We tell you about the natural fermentation methods\, before we take a peek into the Cider barn where the blending\, filtering\, taste testing and bottling happens. We finish in either the Tasting Room or the Cider Garden for a cidermaker led cider tasting of some of our delicious ciders. \nTours run every Thursday\, Friday and Saturday. \nTours begin at 11:00am and finish approx. 12:30. \nBooking is essential. Please bring your ticket or tour experience voucher with you. Tickets are available through our website or directly on the day. Please note that gift cards from other companies are not accepted. \nPlease dress for the weather as much of the tour is outdoors. Dogs are welcome on leads. \nUnder 18s are welcome to try some apple juice. Under 12’s have free entry. \nWe also offer a deliciously abundant Ploughman’s lunch from Oliver’s Kitchen\, available for you to enjoy after the Cider Tour. DESCRIPTION:Cider Club is a monthly talk and tasting with a guest producer at the Yew Tree\, Peterstow near Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. \nGuests arrive and sample through six different ciders whilst hearing the story behind their production and their maker\, and then after the tasting enjoy finishing up the drinks with a ploughman’s buffet with freshly made focaccia. \nJoin us on Saturday 25th April at 7pm to hear from the uber passionate and unique Jack Toye! \nA nascent cidery that was producing on a nano-scale since 2020\, Toye’s Cider is owned and operated by Jack Toye\, a lead writer at Cider-Review.com\, regular orchard helper at Broome Farm\, and now a small scale commercial producer in his own right! Producing a range of bottle conditioned and bag-in-box\, naturally made single variety and orchard blend ciders and perries. \nCider Club is a monthly event consisting of a talk & taste of a range of different ciders/perries led by the maker themselves\, and usually takes around 1.5-2 hours. Everyone is welcome\, whether it’s your first taste of cider or you’re a producer yourself. \nJoin our lovely community of welcoming enthusiasts at one of the most intimate cider events in the UK. Event begins 7pm in the Event Room at the Yew Tree Inn\, Peterstow\, HR9 6JZ. After the talk there is a small\, basic cheese and bread buffet provided. \nTickets can be refunded up to 24 hours prior to the event.

Rich in tales from cider’s colourful history\, the tour is also peppered with local stories and folklore. \nAfter admiring the breath-taking view of the Black Mountains at the top of the orchard and exploring the fermentation rooms you will also get to enjoy a glass of three different ciders\, whilst sat in our permaculture garden during which we will personally talk you through how we created them. \nWhether you’re already a cider connoisseur or have yet to try your first drop\, we cater for all and hope you will go away armed with new knowledge about this wonderful beverage and the land and people that produce it!

DESCRIPTION:We kick off at 13:00 for a 60-minute tour and tasting session with Stephen\, the cider maker. Tour includes samples and a detailed explanation of our products and our wild fermentation processes. \nTickets include: Cidery tour\, includes tastings of the different cider styles direct from their tank. \nTickets are £17.50 per person. \nUnder 18s must be accompanied by an adult. You must be over 18 to consume alcohol on the premises and we operate a challenge 25 policy for ID. \nOne months notice to change dates.  Cancellation on the day will not be refunded or changed. \nParking available on site.
