SUMMARY:Blossom weekend celebration
DESCRIPTION:Dowding’s will be celebrating the visible beginning of a new season with the arrival of blossom in our organic orchards. The farm has been certified organic for over 35 years. We are in SE Somerset between Bruton\, Wincanton and Castle Cary. \nThere will be plenty of road signs to guide you to get to us and parking will be on site. For those with limited mobility this can be arranged so that it is close to the front. \nEntry free / Donation of £1/head to the Pitcombe Rock Falconry. \nThis will be a day for all the family to enjoy strolling amongst 1\,500 apple trees of all ages from 1 to 32 years old. Most are dessert or culinary varieties but the older ones are mostly cider varieties. Visitors will be welcome to wander amongst the blossoming trees\, and the neighbouring wood filled with bluebells. Dogs are welcome but we do ask that they are on a leash whilst you are with us. \nThere will be a display of birds of prey\, large and small\, weather permitting\, from the nearby Pitcombe Rock Falconry where they rescue injured birds of prey and those discarded\, nurturing them back to full health. They are a charity\, and the only cost to your entrance will be a donation to them in lieu of an entrance fee. \nThere will be an opportunity to enjoy eating good food from a local business from c. 11.30 to 5\, with something simpler later in the day. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a tour and tasting at Cidentro’s orchard and cidery. Meet the cider makers for a guided walk through the orchard of 540 trees to discover 7 different varieties of cider apples and learn about cider production from orchard to glass. \nSee the production equipment in the cider house and learn about the different stages of cider making.\nAfter the tour you will be invited to take a seat for a flight of cider tastings to discover a range of different cider styles all accompanied by local food pairings. \nDepending on the season you may see Spring blossom\, Summer apples ripening or the Autumn apple harvest. \nVarious dates are available\, please note that the orchard walk has a little rough terrain so appropriate footwear is recommended. \nChildren accompanied by adults are welcome for the orchard walk but will not be able to participate in the cider tasting (over 18’s only). \nPlease arrive up to 15 mins before start time. Tour and tasting usually lasts 1.5 hrs and there will be time afterwards to purchase cider and merchandise and enjoy the cider bar and orchard at your own leisure.

DESCRIPTION:The 33rd North West Wilts 2026 Chippenham CAMRA Beer\, Cider and Perry festival at the Olympiad Leisure Centre\, Chippenham\, Wiltshire\, SN15 3PA\, \nThe festival will be held over 3 sessions on the Friday 24th April 2026 and the Saturday 25th April 2026\, We will have great hog and lamb roasts along with burgers and plenty of beer\, cider and perry. On both the Saturday sessions we will have live acoustic music by the wonderful Stu Joslin. \n\n\nCAMRA member pricing: Members pay £9 for the Friday or Saturday afternoon sessions\, or £6 for the Saturday evening session. DESCRIPTION:Join The Ciderologist on a voyage to three of Somerset’s finest cider makers. Somerset is rightly heralded for its cider heritage and for its award-winning small makers – the epitome of English cider heartland. \nVarying between farmhouse traditionalists and contemporary modernists\, these makers share two central tenets – a reverence for the apple and a quest to produce the finest libations on the planet. \nBere Cider Company was founded in 1988 and has steadily grown but stayed true to its traditional roots.  They have a focus on a single varietal ciders\, with their Yarlington Mill SV winning Supreme Champion at the 2024 Royal Bath and West Show. \nHarry’s Cider is a multigenerational cider maker from Long Sutton.  The eponymous Harry\, Son Toby and team are crafting award winning ciders\, whilst making them easy drinking at the same time.  And their brand new cellar door is one of the finest places to purchase and drink cider in the UK. \nSomerset Cider Brandy Company is the brainchild of the legendary Julian Temperley who started making cider brandy at Burrow Hill farm\, in Kingsbury Episcopi\, in 1989.  Half of sister cider from sister company\, Burrow Hill\, goes into making the aged spirits and mistelles.  We’ll explore the ciders and sample the spirits directly from the barrel. \nA hearty ploughman’s lunch of local produce will also be provided during the day with VG and GF options available. \nPICK UP: 10:00am – 2 Castle Way\, Taunton\, TA1 4AH (between Mecca Bingo and Apple & Parrot Pub) \nDROP OFF : 17:00pm – 2 Castle Way\, Taunton\, TA1 4AH

SUMMARY:The Big Apple Blossomtime
